When you buy a non running car, honestly I have no idea how to measure the compression. The engine might have run but you can never tell in what condition unless you open the entire block and review. That was out task and we decided right from the beginning to make ALL completely new and not saving any expenses.
A senior mechanic gave me a smart advise: “Make sure you have enough picture before you disassemble” That is what I did.
Detailed documentation of Engine rebuild
Installing the engine from underneath
New torque converter installed with bell housing All nice and clean only need to sorce another stone guard. Loaded on a pallet and pulled to the lifted car Here a “bird view” It is all tight and narrow but with both …. lowering the lift or lifting the pallet. it is all about mm’s This is the moment to check the clearance … at the gear box output as well as the front pulleys Here we have just made it Getting the engine mounting brackets in place and tightening Then we could lift the car … and had a view from underneath Looks to be in good place … just as before but lot of work inbetween.
