This was a great find. 1E34052 is one of the last FHC with covered headlights. Build on 28th of December 66 and spent his first 19 years in California.
The car has been imported to Germany in 86 when it suffered a minor damage to the bonnet during transport but insurance paid a full rebuild of the bonnet and the paint job. Instead of its original black paint the owner went for signal red.
During the restoration process, the owner had the chance to buy a nice running S2 Coupe, and never had the time or need to complete this car. So it sat in his dry shed (visible on some of the pics) on their farm for about 30 years and eventually decided with mid sixties that he would never manage to complete the car again.
It is an all matching numbers car with all parts present. Most of them are already restored or where sourced in the 80th’s.
The red paint job is fantastic and the car could be completed as is, but we will soda blast is and get it back to its original black glamour.
A nice detail, the coachbuilder when he installed the new center forgot to add the 3 captivated nuts for the head light chrome ring.
The target is to fully reassembly to original spec ready to show on the Motorway. Black on black with tinted screens.
